ResearchPlus: Leaders in Nursing Education, Research, and Service

Interested in learning about the research within the Faculty of Nursing? We invite you to peruse our first issue of ResearchPlus, which highlights our faculty’s own teaching and learning research.

A sneak peek into what Alex Clark, Associate Dean (Research), has to say:

As universities continue to place more emphasis on developing new knowledge through research, the opportunities to lead research into the teaching and learning of our students have grown… The University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing is a world-leader in research into the teaching and learning in nursing…

Equipped with a state of the art learning space in the Edmonton Clinical Health Academy…the Faculty is also a vibrant site of knowledge translation. It is an environment where students can not only be involved in this cutting-edge research, but can also benefit directly from its translation in our programs, curricula, and teaching.

  • FREE ONLINE course

3 weeks starting March 28, 2014.

Over the course of their careers health care professionals face a variety of difficult decisions. At times, choosing between two courses of action presents an ethical dilemma. The health care professional must consider the consequences of each course of action. Simply following one’s “gut” feeling is inappropriate and unprofessional. The purpose of this course is to develop core principles in philosophy and ethics to help health care professionals think about and evaluate their role in society.
