Ayurveda Philosophy in Health Care

Ayurveda, the indigenous medical system of India, dates back 5000 years in its codified form where ‘Health’ comprises mind, body, spirit, and social well being. Treatments are designed to retain this balance with no secondary complications where the role of physician, caretaker (nurse), and therapies are equally important. Ayurvedic philosophy of health care incorporates wisdom of medicine combined with compassionate care for the patient.

Rakhi Chandra, former Research Officer at the Centre of Excellence for Ayurvedic Research, India, will share how the philosophy and principles of Ayurveda complement the holistic care.

Come join the presentation and discussion. We look forward to seeing you there!

Time: 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Location: University of Alberta, ECHA 5-001
Speaker: Rahki Chandra, Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Through the Lens of Scholarship: Advancing a Culture of Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Both Clinical and Theory Conferences

CLINICAL, TUTORIAL, AND LAB INSTRUCTORS!
THIS CONFERENCE IS FOR YOU!!

This conference has built in a focus on clinical education. We will be exploring technologies and teaching strategies for engaging students’ critical thinking and clinical reasoning. One of the areas we are most excited to highlight is the focus on building mental and emotional health resiliency as a means for achieving success in clinical areas. A healthy dose of resiliency building for our educators has been added as well.

So please join us! This conference is for you and is about the teaching and learning you are doing with your students in the clinical areas as well as in the classrooms and labs. There are topics that will interest everyone.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dianne Vanderwell, VJ Gibbins, or any member of the S&FD Committee at your Collaborative Partner site!
