Dr. Shannon Scott and her ECHO research program ( are competing in the Canadian Institutes of Health Research – IHDCYH Talks Video Competition. This is to present research-based information to parents/guardians/caregivers about the health of their children and families (
The video submission ‘My child is vomiting and has diarrhea‘ is a whiteboard animation about childhood gastroenteritis to help parents/guardians/caregivers decide whether & when to go to the emergency department, and how to best take care of a child in this condition.

Tri-Agency – Upcoming Financial Monitoring Review

Information: The Tri-Agency (NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR) have confirmed that they will undertake a financial monitoring review of the University of Alberta. To help get ready for the review, RSO has resource pages for both researchers and research administrators.

Cochrane Standard Author Training Workshop

Information: Take this 2.5-day session to learn the basic skills of conducting a Cochrane review. Topics include protocols, setting your question, literature searching, study selection, assessing bias, data and analysis, formulating conclusions, and a hands-on session with the Review Manager software.
