Endowment Fund for the Future: Support for the Advancement of Scholarship
(EFF-SAS) Knowledge Synthesis Grant(KS)

Information: This funding opportunity is to support integrative, scoping, systematic, meta-syntheses or meta-analysis reviews.  Funds are intended to be utilized in a strategic and transformative manner that aligns with the  Faculty of Nursing Strategic Plan 2013-2015 (pdf).

International Nursing Scholar Series 

Information: To provide funds to two Area of Excellence groups in the Faculty of Nursing to engage an internationally renowned scholar in nursing or health to foster scholarship, engagement, and mentorship within key communities in and across the Faculty of Nursing.

Value of Award: The Faculty of Nursing will provide two AoE groups with funds up to $5000.

Faculty of Nursing Postdoctoral Fellowship

Information: The Faculty of Nursing Postdoctoral Fellowship is intended to provide support to exceptional researchers pursuing post-graduate nursing research at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta whose work advances the strategic priority areas of the Faculty of Nursing.

Value of Award: The amount for the fellowship is $75,000, tenable at the University of Alberta only. It has a term of 1-year and is intended for recent PhD graduates (within 5-years).For more information, please review the guidelines  and application form

Faculty of Nursing Undergraduate Student Summer Research Award & SSHRC Summer Award

Information: The Faculty of Nursing offers a summer research program for undergraduate nursing students to provide them with an opportunity to experience the research environment first-hand. Students will be involved in an on-going research project under the supervision of a tenure track faculty member.

AHS- 2017 Undergraduate Summer Studentship Awards New!

Information: The Emergency Strategic Clinical Network Summer Studentship Award (ESCN-SSA) is designed to foster research interest in emergency medicine and related disciplines among students at the undergraduate level of study. It is the ESCN goal that this experience will stimulate an interest in acute care research or clinical practice in emergency medicine (i.e., nurse, physician, EMS, allied health professional) and related disciplines (e.g., business, operations management, etc.). The award will fund up to 5 summer students and offers $6000 per student over 4 months between May and August 2017.

CIHR-Catalyst Grant: Ethics New!

Information: The purpose of this funding opportunity is to build capacity in ethics as it applies to health (including health research, health promotion and maintenance, clinical care, population and public health, health systems and services, policy and governance) by encouraging applications from new investigators as well as established investigators new to the field of health ethics.It is expected that this targeted investment will enable researchers to embark on research in health ethics and prepare to become competitive in other CIHR funding opportunities.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada
Allied Health Doctoral Fellowships New!
Information: The Kidney Foundation of Canada offers a limited number of fellowships designed to provide for full-time academic and research preparation at the doctoral level. The objective of this program is to promote and enhance the development of nephrology allied health investigators in Canada. The award is for up to $31,000/year and is tenable in Canada or abroad.
