Research and Training Scholarships

The American Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Foundation (AAOGF) is offering a scholarship award to be used by an academic member within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The award is intended to provide research training and experience for a candidate who exhibits significant talent, original thought and evidence of dedication to an academic career.

Research training may be either laboratory-based or clinical, and focus on basic or translational research, disease pathogenesis, diagnostics, interventions or epidemiology.

Excelling in the Care of the Elderly – Part 2:
A Course for Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Nurses

Course Description

This two day course, designed by nurse practitioners specialized in the field of geriatric care, is a companion course to Excelling in the care of the Elderly – Part 1. You will further enhance your skill and knowledge in geriatric care, through an in depth focus on special topics such dementia spectrums, end of life care (including MAID) and pain management strategies. Throughout the course, increased emphasis will be placed on application of learning through review of complex cases and effective use of community resources. The course will address the management of geriatric conditions including aging skin disorders, weight loss and nutrition, dizziness, thyroid
disease, influenza, and polymyalgia – with a focus on relevant pathophysiology, clinical reasoning, assessment, and management. Key topics will include tools to use in advanced health assessment, prescribing and deprescribing.
